Police: Pair Of 'Heroes' Save Drowning Man At Stamford Beach Two men are being called "heroes" after saving a drowning man at a Fairfield County beach. Carlos Manuel Escobar Bonilla and Luis Montano are credited with saving a man’s life at Cummings Beach in Stamford around 11 p.m., Monday, July 3, said the Stamford Police. According to police, Bonilla saw the unidentified man in the water was having trouble, so his friend Montano quickly took off his clothes and dove into the water to save the man.  Montano was able to grab the drowning victim, who was now underwater about 20 yards out in the Long Island Sound.  He pulled the victim to th…

Troopers Catch Suicidal Woman Trying To Jump From South Jersey Overpass A pair of New Jersey State Troopers and a Glouceter Township officer are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a suicidal woman from leaping off of an overpass. Troopers Corey Beczo and Brandon Muessig were dispatched to the Route 42 overpass at exit 10A for the report of person sitting on the guardrail around 12:35 p.m. July 26. There, Gloucester Township officers were speaking with a 20-year-old woman who was in emotional distress and was contemplating jumping from the overpass.  As first responders talked to the woman, she let go of the railing. Hackensack School Driving Instructor Beaten While Rescuing Colleague From Violent Carjacker HERO: A violent carjacker was trying to drag a Hackensack driving school instructor out of a vehicle when a colleague came to her rescue, authorities said. Adult students were taking lessons in the Stop & Shop parking lot on West Pleasantview Avenue when Isiah T. Pringle, 31, of Albany approached one of the vehicles, Capt. Darrin DeWitt said.
