A Hudson Valley man was charged with alleged robbery and menacing after stealing items from a car parked in a handicapped space and then attacking a person who attempted to intervene. The incident occurred in Orange County around noon on Thursday, Aug. 29, in the parking lot of Market 32 at 39 N. Plank Road in Newburgh. According to Lt. In the near future, handicapped motorists parking in New Canaan will have to pay to park in metered lots following a vote by the Parking Commission. Officials voted 4-1 (Crum against) to begin charging handicapped permit-holders who park in designated spaces in the lots at Morse Court and Center School, according to city documents.
