Identities Released After Fairfax Father Killed Wife, Daughter Before Fatal Police Shooting
The names are now public in one of Virginia's most violent domestic attacks in recent memory.
Chhatra Thapa, 54, of Fairfax, was shot and killed by officers after he fatally stabbed his wife and daughter before turning the knife on his son-in-law inside a Mantua apartment early on Monday, Feb. 23, according to Fairfax County Police.
Mamta Thapa, 33, and Binda Thapa, 52, also of Fairfax, died at the hospital after suffering stab wounds during the attack.
The son-in-law remains hospitalized with critical injuries as of Wednesday, Feb. 25.

Alexandria Man Offered Woman A Ride, Then Tried To Sexually Assault Her, Police Say
A Virginia man is behind bars after allegedly abducting a woman and attempting to sexually assault her when she got into his vehicle, police said.
Jose Mauricio Sosas Ramos, 58, of Alexandria, was arrested following the attack, which happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley, according to Fairfax County police.
Investigators say a woman was walking in the area when Sosas Ramos pulled up and offered her a ride. Once she was inside the vehicle, he allegedly refused to let her leave and tried to sexually assault her.
