Montgomery College was unexpectedly shut down on Friday afternoon after threats were made targeting the school. An "external threat" received by Lehigh Career and Technical Institute administrators led to restrictions on campus on Tuesday, March 12, according to school officials. LCTI did not describe the threat but said state police found it "credible." Movement was restricted on campus until all high school students were dismissed at 3:17 p.m., administrators said in a message on their website. Evening adult education classes will continue as scheduled. Upper Macungie police have arrested a suspect in connection with the incident, LCTI said.

There will be an increased police presence at a Westchester high school after “an unsettling message” was found written in a bathroom. On Thursday, Jan. 30, a student alerted administrators at Irvington High School that there was a message stating “Don’t come tomorrow” that had been written on a bathroom wall, Schools Superintendent Kirstopher Harrison said. Police identified the origin Monday of a Twitter threat the led to the closure of The Harvey School in Katonah on Friday. "The investigation revealed the threat originated from an out-of-state source although a suspect has not been identified at this time," Bedford Police Lt. Vincent Gruppuso said.
