An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Multiple Cars Catch Fire After Tree Limb Falls On Power Lines: Cherry Hill FD A tree limb falling on power lines prompted a response from firefighters in Cherry Hill Monday, Aug. 3, authorities said. At 3:31 p.m., tree limb fell on power lines, causing the power lines to land on parked vehicles, which saw a vehicle catch ablaze and spread the fire to other cars, Cherry Hill Fire Department said. The fire unleashed plumes of smoke into the sky and caused a power outage at the Grand Apartments, firefighters said. No injuries were reported, firefighters said.

NJ Motorcyclist Killed In Route 295 Crash In Logan: Njsp A 47-year-old Camden man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 295 in Gloucester County, authorities said. At 10:16 p.m. on Friday, July 31, troopers responded to a crash on Route 295 north in Logan Township after a a Suzuki motorcycle driven by Jermaine Hatcher struck a Ram pickup, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Hatcher was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Marchan said. The driver and three passengers in the Ram sustained minor injuries, Marchan said. The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.

At 2:53 a.m., Camden County police responded to Cooper University Hospital after Davinne Evans walked to the medical center and collapsed outside a parking garage, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. Evans was soon pronounced dead, authorities said. Officers determined he was stabbed at Broadway and Stevens Street, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
