PEEKSKILL, N.Y. New Year's Eve is this weekend and several city establishments will be holding special events to ring in 2012.
12 Grapes will present Duchess Di & the Distractions, an eight-piece 1940s themed band playing Blues, Swing & Jump, and American roots music like rockabilly and early rock n roll.
Owner Rich Credidio said the 8:30 p.m. dinner and show has sold out but said 6 p.m. dinner seating is still available for those who want to be home before the ball drops and he said patrons can come just to see the show 9:45 p.m. "Admission is 25 dollars and that includes the toast at midnight," Credidio said.
The Birdsall House will have a special prix fix tasting menu including dessert from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $65 and a New Year's Eve Happy Hour from 10 p.m. to midnight featuring $5 Draughts and $5 well drinks and a complimentary beer toast at midnight.
Quiet Man Pub owner Chuck McGreal said his place will be serving a special "New Year's Eve only" menu Saturday night with a limited menu including items such as French onion soup, mussels in Guinness broth, escargot and roasted beet salad. The normal menu will not be offered that night.
McGreal said the pub will be celebrating the New Year twice once at 7 p.m., when it is being celebrated in Dublin, and again at midnight. "We'll have champagne and party favors," he said.
The BeanRunner Café will celebrate New Year's Eve with the band Jamaikit Funky, who will bring an old-school R&B fest starting at 8 p.m. Then DJ Ted B will entertain until the wee hours of the morning. A Caribbean-style buffet and complimentary glass of champagne are included. Admission is $50 per person.
The Cove will hold a New Year's Eve party featuring the band Pumping Ethel starting at 9 p.m. There will be dinner specials, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. Admission is free. On New Year's Day they will be serving a special brunch with unlimited mimosas from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The Division Street Grill will hold a New Years Eve party with local R&B artist Tommy Dabbs And A Little Bit of This & A Little Bit Of That from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The $55 cover includes a light buffet, dessert and coffee and midnight champagne toast. Tax and gratuities are also included. A cash bar will be open.
Earlier that night the grill will be taking open reservations from 5-9 p.m. for New Year's Eve dinner, which includes soup, salad, entree and dessert for $48 including tax and gratuity. The grill will open at 4 p.m. for dinner on New Year's Day, owner Arne Paglia said.
Nellies Café will hold a family-friendly New Year's Eve party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. DJ Ezy Erv will be spinning tunes in the main dining room and karaoke will be available in private spaces. Cover comes with light hors d'oeuvres for everyone. Adults will have all you can drink beer and wine. Kids will get a scoop and soda. The party will continue after 1 a.m. Cover is $30 for adults and $10 for kids.
The Patio II will have a Latin-themed New Year's Eve party with DJ Tiburon and $2.99 imported beer specials Saturday night from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The Peekskill Brewery will be holding a New Year's Eve 90s Party with D.J. Anthony L. starting at 10 p.m. in the dining room.Come dressed up and dance to your favorite 90s tunes. Admission is free. On Sunday, the brewery will hold its annual New Year's Day Beer Brunch, which sells out every year so reservations are recommended. Both the brunch menu and regular menu will be available starting at noon.
