A group of six Yonkers co-workers shared a $1 million jackpot after hitting the lucky numbers in the New York Lottery. A Stamford, Conn., resident also scored big in the lottery, landing a $1 million scratch-off ticket from a deli in New Rochelle.
The Yonkers City Council unanimously passed a steep slope ordinance, which if signed into law by Mayor Mike Spano, would create new regulations for developers hoping to build large projects on the city’s hillsides. Officials said the long-awaited ordinance is meant to serve as a guide to ensure safer construction.
A 5-week-old kitten miraculously survived after being thrown out of a third-story window Sunday. The kitten suffered only minor injuries and no broken bones. A warrant has since been issued for Craig Morejon, the man accused of tossing the feline from the window.
