Yonkers Group Pushes Against Mosque Construction

YONKERS, N.Y. – A Yonkers group is fighting against a push to build a mosque at a dilapidated mansion site in Colonial Heights, according to News 12 Westchester.

Plans to turn a dilapidated mansion on Grandview Boulevard in Yonkers into a mosque is meeting resistance.

The property on Grandview Boulevard is reportedly falling apart, and a Islamic group purchased the mansion intending to turn it into a mosque.

A local group is pushing to have it designated as a landmark, and others say the increased traffic from the mosque would add congestion to the area, reported News 12 Westchester.

The mansion was built in 1908.
