Though it was a warm, sunny spring day, Jesus Farfan and Jose Frias were splitting and stacking firewood all day Monday at Gregory's Sawmill in Wilton. The two work six days a week to stockpile enough logs to keep residents' fireplaces and wood stoves burning through the winter. George Bell, an employee of Gregory's Sawmill, says splitting the wood now gives it time to dry out over the summer.
