"During your time here, you have grown, you have taught us all a lesson or two, and perhaps we have reciprocated with words of wisdom. Most importantly, you have learned to lead and to treat others with respect and tolerance. These are all tools to live a successful life,” Headmaster Tim Golding said during the commencement ceremony. “There will come a time when you believe everything is finished—that will be the beginning.”
Redding resident, Emily Fried the Senior Prefect, announced that the senior class gift would be going to the New Jerusalem Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia.
“We chose to go the extra mile,” Fried said. Every year, Wooster students visit the Center during the Alternative Spring Break community service trip.
“The fact that this class chose to make a gift beyond Wooster is phenomenal. The motivation of their hearts should be an inspiration to others,” Rev. Garrett Mettler said.
The class orators, Matt Sciarrino, of Norwalk, and Connor Williams, of Redding, spoke with pride.
“Although we have our own quirks, we love each other despite them and because of them. So, take the lessons out into the world that you have learned here and we wish a bright and prosperous future for every one of you.”
