NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service is predicting a mix of precipitation for the next 48 hours.
Snow is predicted for Wednesday before 3 p.m., then turning into a mix of snow, freezing rain, and sleet. A daytime high of about 36 degrees is expected. Snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible but little or no ice accumulation is expected.
Rain and sleet are expected overnight with a low of around 33 degrees. New sleet accumulation of less than one-half inch is possible.
Thursday morning will bring a mix of rain, snow, and sleet, then becoming all rain after 8 a.m. with a daytime high of near 44 degrees. New precipitation amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch is possible.
Several school districts in northern Westchester have sent out email and text alerts notifying parents of a possible early dismissal on Wednesday.
There is a slight chance of rain before midnight with a low around 32 degrees before clearing up on Friday, which is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 45 degrees.
