With rain coming late in the day on Thursday people made their way to Stop & Shop in Wilton Center for food and supplies as clouds darkened the afternoon sky.
The National Weather Service is calling for rain and snow to fall between 9 p.m. and midnight on Thursday with no snow accumulating. A flood warning has been issued from Friday morning until Saturday morning because rain is expected to continue throughout the day on Friday.
About 1 to 1 ½ inches of rain are expected, but as many as 2 inches could fall, the warning says. Snow already on the ground and new rain may cause ponding on urban area roadways and underpasses. Stream may also flood.
