WILTON, Conn. A public information meeting about Hurricane Irene will be held Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilton Library's Brubeck Room, the town of Wilton and its state legislators announced.
The purpose of the hearing will be to solicit comments from Wilton residents on major storm-related issues and to obtain suggestions to improve preparations and response to future emergencies.
In attendance will be First Selectman Bill Brennan, state Sen. Toni Boucher, state Rep. Gail Lavielle and other town officials. Representatives from Connecticut Light & Power will also attend.
As future storms are inevitable, the town and CL&P recognize the need to make emergency response improvements when required, officials said. The input of Wilton residents will be important, as the town plans for future storm emergencies, officials said.
