WILTON, Conn. Tropical Storm Irene has extended Wilton students' summer vacation by an extra week. Classes are now set to begin the day after Labor Day.
Mid-day Tuesday, Superintendent Gary Richards' office posted the following message on the schools' website:
"In light of the continuing state of emergency, the Wilton Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 31, Thursday, Sept. 1, and Friday, Sept. 2. Schools are now scheduled to open on Tuesday, Sept. 6."
