WILTON, Conn. Wilton's Spencer Brown won the freshmen boys race Saturday at the Wilton Invitational, covering the 1.5-mile distance in 7:41.
Brown was three seconds ahead of Darien's Alex Ostberg. Brown and Ostberg ran together for most of the race before Brown pulled away over the final 400 yards. Brown and Ostberg are former teammates at the Wilton Running Club.
Brown is off to a fast start for the Warriors, after finishing second in the team's first meet of the season in a race against Danbury, Harding, Ludlowe and Ridgefield.
