WILTON, Conn. The following are excerpts from the Wilton Fire Department log for the period Aug. 2-9:
Aug. 2
4:58 a.m.: Deerfield Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
3:26 p.m.: Thunder Lake Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
5:35 p.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
7:42 p.m.: Belden Hill Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
10:55 p.m.: River Road, overheated motor. Report of the smell of something burning in a building. Upon investigation FD personnel found a smoking compactor behind the building. FD personnel investigated compactor and found the motor to be overheating and malfunctioning. Power to unit shut off, and maintenance contacted.
11:08 p.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
11:52 p.m.: River Road, odor investigation. Upon investigation, FD personnel determined the source to be from the earlier incident involving the compactor
Aug. 3
9:29 a.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
1:54 p.m.: Cheese Spring Road, hazard standby. A propane company was contacted by a resident to off-load the propane from a damaged tank. Propane Company requested Fire Department to stand by while product was off-loaded.
5:27 p.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
6:32 p.m.: Stonebridge Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
6:34 p.m.: Forest Lane, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
Aug. 4
8:04 a.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
8:53 a.m.: Cedar Road, motor vehicle accident. Minor accident with no injuries, or fluids. Canceled in route by police.
3:10 p.m.: Hurlbutt Street, report of electrical wires burning. Area checked, nothing found.
5:40 p.m.: Sturges Ridge Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
6:50 p.m.: Ruscoe Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
8:19 p.m.: School Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
Aug. 5
1:10 a.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
3:27 p.m.: Ridgefield Road, motor vehicle accident. Two-car rear-end type accident, Firefighters provided medical care to two injured parties. FD personnel also contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.
5:54 p.m.: Hulda Hill Road, smoke removal. Occupant burnt food while cooking diner. FD requested to assist in removing smoke.
Aug. 6
10:24 a.m.: Skunk Lane, report of an alarm sounding. Area checked, source unfound.
3:42 p.m.: River Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
7:39 p.m.: Olmstead Hill Road, burning wires. Upon arrival FD personnel found electrical wires burning. Area was secured and CL&P notified.
Aug. 7
10:51 a.m.: Belden Hill Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
Aug. 8
10:03 a.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
11:28 a.m.: Cherry Lane, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
12:19 p.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
4:26 p.m.: Skunk Lane, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
6:18 p.m.: Danbury Road, wires down. Upon arrival FD personnel found primary electrical wires down. Area was secured, and CL&P notified.
9:07 p.m.: Ridgefield Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
10:38 p.m.: Westport Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the fire alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
11:43 p.m.: Cedar Road, motor vehicle accident. One-car accident. Firefighters checked for injuries, none reported. FD personnel also contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.
Aug. 9
7:59 a.m.: Danbury Road, motor vehicle accident. Car vs. truck, with four injured parties. Firefighters had to extricate two occupants using the Jaws of Life. Firefighters assisted with providing medical care to the injured parties, and contained and cleaned up a fluid sill.
1:59 p.m.: School Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
2:49 p.m.: River Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care, and assisted EMS and paramedic.
5:08 p.m.: Belden Hill Road, report of an explosion. Area checked, nothing found.
5:11 p.m.: Scarlet Oak Drive, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
8:41 p.m.: Signal Hill Road, tree and wires down. Upon arrival FD personnel found a tree and wires down. Area secured, CL&P notified.
11:50 p.m.: Signal Hill Road, electrical problem. Problem with a generator. FD personnel shut off generator and advised occupant to contact a service company.
