Wilton Crowd Eats Up Dinner and a Show

WILTON, Conn. – Dressed in matching blue tropical-print shirts that would make Jimmy Buffet long for a new tailor, Arthur Lipner and members of his steel drum band Wilton Steel banged out a Caribbean beat to accompany the Mediterranean dishes served up by Wilton Pizza & Pasta on Tuesday night.

Lipner started his band last September and welcomes musicians of all ages and abilities. According to his website, members range in age from 11 to 64. Some have previous music experience; others have no training. The goal of the band is to have fun.

Diners hoping to enjoy dinner and a show are in luck throughout the rest of the summer. Wilton Pizza's Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evening performances incorporate a variety of styles played by diverse musicians in the shadow of the eatery's outdoor cafe.

Shows start at about 6 p.m., weather permitting. For more information, including the possibility of Saturday shows, call Wilton Pizza at 203-762-0007. The restaurant is located at 202 Town Green.
