Wilton 5th Grade Blue Takes First Loss

WILTON, Conn. – Fairfield came up with a fourth-quarter touchdown to nip the Wilton 5th grade Blue team, 6-0, in a Fairfield County Football League battle last weekend.

Wilton defensive standouts included Richard Nolan, Tyler Previte, Kyle Philips, Matt Graham, Max Colburn, Joey Seaman, Matthew King, Malcolm MacGregor, Ethan Masek, Dean Dinanno, Thomas Costello, Jiffy Lesica, Andrew Luciano and Cole Barnes. They stood stout against Fairfield the entire game.

The offense was led by big gains from Philips both passing and running, while, Previte, Dinanno and Luciano also ran for long gains. Nolan, Graham, Lesica and Niko Koenigsberger led Wilton's blocking wall.

Wilton reached the Fairfield 4-yard line in the third quarter, but couldn't punch the ball in. An apparent touchdown pass from Phillips to Dinanno was called back on a penalty.

Fairfield responded with a scoring drive to hand Wilton its first loss. That touchdown accounted for the first points Wilton has allowed all season.

Wilton looks to get back to winning form Sunday against the Darien Wave. Both teams are 2-1.
