Why Did the Snapping Turtle Cross Easton's Road?

If the snapping turtle crossed the road to get to the other side, he succeeded. This turtle was spotted on Old Redding Road in Easton on Thursday afternoon, across from the Aspetuck Valley Golf Course in Weston.

A maintenance worker from the course bravely grabbed onto the back of the turtle's shell to move him back to the other side of the road. As the worker clutched his hands around the shell and lifted the turtle up, the turtle stretched its neck out of its shell and lunged at the worker. Luckily, the man was in a place where the snapping turtle could not touch him.

The maintenance worker said there are at least three more snapping turtles living around the ponds on the golf course.
