WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. An elderly White Plains man was found dead Friday at the side of Ross Street with a bullet wound to the chest that police think was self-inflicted, Detective Lt. Eric Fischer said.
Police did not release the man's name, but said he was elderly and lived near where his body was found. Police think he used a handgun.
A passer-by reported a man down on Ross Street near Warren Street. White Plains police are investigating the death as a potential suicide.
