WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. A White Plains man was arrested and charged with stealing a $40,000 white 2010 Ford pickup last Friday from an auto body shop on South Kensico Avenue, according to a police report.
Jason Howard, 32, of E. Post Road, is charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, a misdemeanor.
The owner of the pickup told police an unknown person took his truck at about 11 a.m. and drove off with it down South Kensico Avenue toward Lake Street. While police searched the area, a passerby told them he saw the truck heading toward Harrison.
When Howard pulled into a Shell gas station, police said, he was arrested. Howard was being held, pending a court appearance.
