Friday, Oct. 5
Music in the Square: Noon. The monthly Friday afternoon concerts continue in Getty Square. Admission is free. Getty Square, downtown Yonkers.
Free Friday Nights: 5 p.m. Now in its final week, enjoy free admission to the Hudson River Museum and a free planetarium show at 7 p.m. Inside, you can enjoy exhibits such as Gilded Age Magic and Westchester Women & War: Portraits. Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Ave.
Salsa Fest and Night of Fiesta: 5 p.m. Grab your dancing shoes and head down to the library for a night of fiesta and free Salsa dancing lessons. Enjoy food from your favorite local restaurants. Yonkers Riverfront Library, 1 Larkin Center.
Saturday, Oct. 6
Columbus Day Cross Country Meet: 8:30 a.m. Children 14 years and younger are invited to run in races of various lengths, from 100 yards to a mile in the citys Columbus Day Cross Country meet. Admission is free. Tibbetts Brook Park, 355 Midland Ave.
Teen Run On The Aqueduct: 9 a.m. Yonkers teens will run in a trail-long celebration of the Old Croton Aqueduct. Join the group for Aqueduct history, music, puppets, pony rides, cycling tours, a trail run, tree rides, prizes, water fun and more. Prizes to the top three finishers, courtesy of Dicks Sporting Goods. Race begins at Shonnard Terrace and the Aqueduct Trail in Yonkers. Ends at Washington Avenue in Hastings.
Childrens Arts and Crafts: Noon. Hosted by City Council member Wilson Terrero, children will enjoy a day of entertainment while making arts and craft projects, receive prizes and enjoy activities, all as part of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Yonkers Riverfront Library, 1 Larkin Center.
