The Weston High School boys lacrosse team takes the field in defense of its Class S state championship Wednesday in the season opener against Bunnell. The game begins at 5:30 at Weston as the Trojans begin the quest for a their third state title.
In other home games Wednesday, the softball team meets Notre Dame of Fairfield at 4 p.m., the baseball team plays Platt Tech at 4 p.m. and the boys tennis team hosts Newtown. The boys golf team battles Pomperaug at Aspetuck Valley Country Club.
The girls golf team plays against Fairfield Ludlowe and Darien at Smith Richardson golf course in Fairfield, and the girls lacrosse team travels to Stratford to meet Bunnell.
The Weston girls tennis team has a new coach in Tor Terranova, who had been an assistant for six years with the boys team. Weston's girls open their season Thursday at Glastonbury. Weston has won four straight Class S state titles.
