What: A premiere of a 17-minute film entitled "Consequential Lies," completed by three Weston High School seniors, Alex Fjellberg Swerdlowe, Joey DePasquale and Ricky Rivera.

When: Thursday, April 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Commission room, Weston Town Hall, 56 Norfield Road

What: State Rep. John Shaban will meet with constituents during office hours in Weston. He invites residents to share concerns, ideas and ask questions about state government. Shaban serves on the legislature's judiciary, environment and finance committees.

Where: Weston Public Library Community Room

What: Vernal Pool Preview Program. Join Naturalist Chris Evers of Animal Embassy and enjoy his amazing photographs of life in and around the vernal pools in a digital slide presentation. You will be introduced to some of the enigmatic creatures that live in and around these ephemeral wetlands. Meet a variety of creatures, likely including spotted salamanders, a spotted turtle, gray tree frogs and more.

What: Amy Rogell performs in a free children's concert.

Notes: Each family is asked to bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to the Weston Food Pantry.

Where: Norfield Grange, 10 Good Hill Road

What: Kentucky Derby Party – watch the race on the Grange's jumbotron.

What: Weston's first Relay For Life, a 15-hour event to celebrate the fundraising efforts of participants and teams.

When: Saturday, May 21, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Where: Devil's Den Vernal Pool

What: Devil's Den Vernal Pool Field Trip with the Friends of the Weston Library. Join Chris Evers, Animal Embassy guest naturalist, on an adventure to a unique habitat, the vernal pool. Discover some of the unique creatures, such as Wood frogs, American toads and Spotted salamanders, that visit these pools once a year to lay their eggs. On the walk, participants will investigate how these creatures have progressed in their metamorphosis.
