John Petrini and Brandon Pomerance of Westhill High have advanced to the State boys tennis Class LL championship match to be played at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Yale University in New Haven.
Here is their road to the finals:
1st round: Bye
2nd round: Defeated Jason Hipoma and Jason Rothberg of Amity, 6-0, 6-2
3rd round: Defeated Wilhard Reuter and Sean Scott of Ridgefield, 6-1, 7-5
Quarterfinals: Defeated Evan Davis and Baxter Stein of Staples, 6-2, 6-1
Semifinals: Defeated CJ Purse and Michael Grund of Greenwich, 6-2, 6-1
Their opponents in the final will be Jake Hirschberg and Graham Hyman from Staples High School.
