The Blue Wave varsity baseball team won its second consecutive game on Monday, beating Westhill High School in a rain-shortened outing, 4-1.
Darien was led by the pitching of Andrew Hurn, who no-hit the Vikings through the first four innings, collecting seven strikeouts. Hurn allowed just four hits in the contest, which was stoppe after five full innings.
Darien's offense was paced by Sam Gillespie, who was 2 for 2 and scored two runs. Justin Pryor and Tommy Farren also had two hits apiece for the Blue Wave, who outhit the Vikings 10-4.
The win puts Darien in the Connecticut state tournament. The Blue Wave has two home games remaining this week, Wednesday vs. Bridgeport Central and Friday, Senior Day, vs. Fairfield Warde at 4 p.m.
