Warde's Sullivan Seeded First for State Open

Fairfield Warde's Mike Sullivan is seeded No. 1 at 160 pounds as the Mustangs send five wrestlers to the State Open beginning Friday at the New Haven Athletic Center.

Sullivan, the undefeated Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference champion, is coming off a sensational Class L tournament in which he earned the award for fastest falls, collecting four points in just 5:01.

He will be joined at the Open by Alex Delaney (171), Pharoah Eaton (125), Evan Fraster (130) and James Neomontis (135). Delaney is seeded sixth after finishing second in the Class L meet. He lost in the final to Devon Carillo of Middletown, 8-1. Carillo is the No. 1 seed.

Fraser is seeded fifth. Eaton and Neomontis are seeded seventh. They also lost in the finals at the Class L tournament last week.

Warde finished sixth at the Open last year. Fraser finished fourth last year at 125, and Eaton finished sixth at 103.
