FAIRFIELD, Conn. Fairfield Warde senior Harry Warnick won the 5th annual Ocean State Invitational cross country meet Saturday at Goddard Park in Warwick, R.I. Warnick covered the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course in 16:02 to win the Division 2 competition. Lexi Hoadley placed fifth in the girls race, finishing in 20:12. Warde's boys finished 16th in the 36-team field, while the girls were ninth out of 25 schools. The rest of Warde's top five were Sam Warnick, 17:54, Tong Liu, 18:32, Aidan Fiol, 18:42 and Chris Bencivengo, 18:52. The Mustangs' top five girls included Jackie Wall, 21:23, Caroline Keough, 21:24, Jillian Tallent, 21:45 and Jade Powell, 22:26. Complete meet results are available online. Warde's runners hit the trails at New Canaans Waveny Park Monday for a meet against the New Canaan Rams, Danbury, Brien McMahon and Bridgeport Central.
