The collapse happened just after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, when fire crews responded to the corner of Landscape Avenue and Caryl Avenue, according to the Yonkers Fire Department.
Firefighters said a section of wall measuring roughly 40 feet by 10 feet fell onto a vehicle that had been parked nearby. The driver was inside the car at the time but was able to get out before emergency crews arrived.
First responders provided medical aid at the scene before the victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Firefighters and police secured the area while searching for any additional victims and checking the stability of nearby structures.
The Yonkers Fire Department and Yonkers Police Department remained at the scene Wednesday afternoon, along with the Yonkers Building Department, as the investigation continues.
