Stamford's Bobby Valentine won't become the next manager of the Florida Marlins. The Marlins have decided to keep interim manager Edwin Rodriguez for the rest of the season.
Valentine, now working as an analyst at ESPN, formerly managed the Mets and Texas Rangers. He also managed in Japan. There was instant speculation that he would join the Marlins when the team fired Fredi Gonzalez last week. Valentine was scheduled to visit with the owner Jeffrey Loria, but Valentine did not make a trip to Florida. He even participated in the KIC It Triathlon Sunday in Stamford.
