Utopia Gaming Lounge has opened at 201 Dolson Ave., Unit 201F, in Middletown, offering a mix of video games, tabletop gaming, pool, and themed mocktails in a setting designed for casual players and hardcore gamers alike.
City officials marked the opening on Monday, Jan. 5, celebrating the launch of the lounge, which the City of Middletown described as “a place for gamers to unite,” whether they prefer consoles, cards and dice, or cue sticks. The venue also offers space for parties and private events.
Utopia features gaming across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PC, and a nostalgia station with classic systems like the PS1 and NES.
Admission is hourly, with options ranging from $6 an hour for tabletop gaming to $9 an hour for console gaming, $10 an hour for pool, or $35 for unlimited access to everything. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are recommended for couch co-op stations.
While alcohol isn’t on the menu, Utopia leans into creativity with themed mocktails inspired by popular video games, including The Clicker (inspired by The Last of Us), Vice City Fever (a neon-colored nod to GTA: Vice City), and Who Do You Voodoo, a spooky drink complete with floating lychee “eyeballs.” Snacks and drinks are sold on-site, and outside food is not permitted.
The lounge is geared toward guests 16 and older, with younger teens allowed if accompanied by an adult. Parking is available in the surrounding plaza, and events can be booked by phone or email.
