Ursuline has been here before, the Section 1 Class AA final, but did not walk away happy that June day in 2010.
The fourth-seeded Koalas are hoping to come away with the title Sunday when they play second-seeded John Jay-East Fishkill in the Section 1 Class AA softball final, 3 p.m., at North Rockland High School in Rockland County.
The winner moves on to a regional semifinal Monday, 5:30 p.m., at Minisink Valley High School in Orange County against the Section 9 champion.
Ursuline earned its second finals berth in three years with a 7-3 win over top-seeded R.C. Ketcham. Last year, it was Ketcham which halted Ursuline in a sectional semifinal. Ursuline pounded out 14 hits, paced by Jamie Carforas four, in the win over Ketcham.
