Christopher R. Wolf, 46, of Budd Lake, was named in a five-count indictment returned by a Union County grand jury on Thursday, Aug. 6, the Union County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday, Aug. 14.

The indictment followed an investigation into official misconduct and fraudulent title filings, prosecutors said.

The Union County Prosecutor's Office Special Prosecution Unit conducted the investigation in coordination with local police departments, authorities said. Assistant Prosecutor Aran McNerney and Det. Edward Henderson led the investigation.

“The integrity of our entire criminal justice system relies on the public’s confidence that those sworn to enforce our laws abide by them with complete honesty,” Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. “When that trust is breached, our office has an unwavering obligation to uphold the rule of law.”

The prosecutor's office did not provide additional details about the alleged fraudulent title filings or specify the five individual counts in the indictment.
