To the dismay of Wilton's kids, August has arrived and it's time to start thinking about going back to school. Last week, the recently unified Miller-Driscoll School did the same, replacing its old signs with new ones indicating the name change.
Two colorful new signs designating the entrances for Miller-Driscoll School have replaced the old white and blue signs. Besides being newer and adding more color, the new signs also show the school logo, which Assistant Principal of Miller-Driscoll School Dr. Sheelah Brown said was very symbolic.
"Our new logo celebrates the union of Tilford W. Miller and Ina Driscoll Schools," Brown wrote in a recent blog post.
The two sides of the triangle represent the past accomplishments of each school, Brown wrote, and the third signifies the expected future achievements of the unified school. Explaining the rest of the logo, Brown said the circle signifies that the school is now one unit and the schoolhouse represents the unification of all the students under one name.
Brown and other school administrators set up the informational blog to keep everyone up to date on the consolidation. "The joining of these two excellent schools will only enhance and strengthen our outstanding reputations as the foundation of the Wilton Public Schools," Brown wrote.
