Poughkeepsie resident Ulysses Davis, 49, was arrested on Thursday, May 21, in connection with a stabbing on March 15, City of Poughkeepsie Police said on Friday, May 22.
Davis is charged with second-degree attempted murder connection with the stabbing, which happened on South Hamilton Street at around 11:30 a.m., police said.
After the incident, responding officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Davis had fled before police arrived, according to investigators.
Detectives later developed evidence that led to a signed felony information charging Davis in the attack, police said. He was taken into custody on Thursday without incident.
Authorities said Davis was arraigned and sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail because of five prior felony convictions.
