Troopers and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to Oprandy's Fire Equipment in the Town of Wallkill on Feb. 12 on a report of an explosion, state police said.
The responding Troopers located two workers, Frank J. Buono, 23, of Goshen and Christopher Foust, 35, of Warwick, in the rear room of the building with severe leg injuries, police said.
Troopers, along with the assistance of Town of Wallkill officers, utilized tourniquets on both victims while waiting for EMS personnel.
An investigation revealed that Foust was filling a fire extinguisher with air when the tank ruptured, causing injuries to himself and Buono, police said.
Buono suffered a severe injury to his right leg and Foust suffered severe injuries to both of his legs, according to state police.
