At 6 a.m., Brandon Alexander waited in the Excelcare Rehabilitation Facility parking lot for his estranged wife, Victoria Alexander, both of Minotola, to arrive for work, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
Victoria worked there as a nurse, authorities said. Once she arrived, Brandon pulled up and blocked her in, before entering her vehicle and leaving two suicide notes on the dashboard, authorities said.
A food delivery truck driver asked Brandon to move his vehicle, authorities said. At that time, Victoria took an opportunity to exit her car and run into the building, authorities said.
Brandon followed her into the building, where he shot her several times and then shot himself, authorities said. Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene while Brandon was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on Tuesday, April 14, authorities said.
