NORWALK, Conn. Two Norwalk residents say they were jumped Sunday night by a large group of young men on West Cedar Street, Norwalk police say.
Officers were summoned to Norwalk Hospital at 11 p.m. to see the victims, ages 18 and 24. One had a cut on the bridge of his nose, according to Sgt. Lisa Cotto. The other had cuts on his face.
They said they were walking on West Cedar Street when 10 to 15 young men came up from behind them and jumped them. The group punched them and kicked them, then ran toward Best Buy. The victims thought they were teenagers.
They said they didn't know who would jump them, Cotto said.

Bat attack. A Norwalk man was arrested Sunday after taking a baseball bat out into the street to defend his girlfriend, police say.
Police went to Concord and Day streets at 5:26 p.m. on a report that a man, who was wearing a New York Jets jersey and a baseball hat, chasing a woman and carrying a baseball bat.
When police arrived, Frederick Fortt, 42, of 114 Main St., handed over the bat immediately, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. The woman said she had gone to the Alexa Grocery to get soda and a man tried to pick her up. She thought she might get a beer out of it so she went to his apartment. She had her beer and went home, then told Fortt that a guy had tried to beat her up and rape her.
Fortt's effort with the baseball bat caused annoyance and alarm, so police said he was charged with second-degree breach of peace.
