Two Hommocks School Computers Stolen

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Hommocks Middle School officials reported two iMac desktop computers, believed to be stolen sometime between July 13 and Aug. 3, according to police. Both silver-colored computers are each worth $1,400. 

The following items were also reported in the Town of Mamaroneck Police blotter from Oct. 20 to Oct. 26.Identity Theft: A town resident, 53, reported someone tried to use their personal account with an investment firm to wire $48,600 to an unknown location sometime between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 20. The amount of money involved makes this a first-degree identity theft. Identity Theft: An unknown suspect tried to use a local man's Pay Pal account to buy computer equipment worth $1,000. The second-degree identity theft was unsuccessful. Burglary: An unknown suspect entered an open garage and stole a man's Schwinn bike worth $250. The third-degree burglary of the blue 21-speed Schwinn is reported to have occurred on Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.Petit Larceny: A town woman reported that two ceramic planters holding mums plants were taken from her front lawn sometime between Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m. The planters are worth $60 each, while the plants are worth $50 each. Identity Theft: A town resident reported someone tried to use their debit card number to buy a laptop computer from Office Depot's website. The computer was worth $1,000, making it a second-degree identity theft.
