Jasmine Sharma's and Myriam Burger's plays were chosen. Both will receive a certificate of accomplishment and a Governor's Award.

The winning plays will be performed at the New Jersey Young Playwrights Festival. Plays from the high school division will be performed on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. The performances are free and open to the public -- though there's a $10 recommended donation.

These plays will be put on at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, 100 South St., in Morristown. You can reserve tickets here.
