FAIRFIELD, Conn. Two men were charged with theft from a Fairfield business early Monday morning. Their haul? Multiple cases of empty bottles. Orlando Lai-Claudio, 23, of West Haven, and Jarelys Ruiz-Adorno, 20, of Hartford, were arrested when the bottles were found in their car during a traffic stop, police say.
An officer interviewed the two at about 2:30 a.m. Monday after seeing them driving without headlights on Kings Highway East, according to the police report. About 45 cases of empty beer bottles were in the trunk and backseat. The bottles were reported stolen from a shed behind a Villa Avenue business, and the owner decided to press charges, police say.
Both men were charged with sixth-degree larceny. Lai-Claudio was also charged with third-degree burglary. The two were released on a promise to appear in court. Ruiz-Adorno is due to face charges on Jan. 2, and Lai-Claudio is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6.

? The manager of a group of Brentwood Avenue condominiums was charged with fraud Monday for failing to purchase insurance for the units he owned, police say. The problem was discovered when the condos were left uninhabitable by a fire in May.
Kerry OSullivan, 52, of Burr Street, manages four condos in the complex at 57 Brentwood Avenue. On May 10, a fire struck the right side of the building, leaving the units uninhabitable.
During the insurance claims process it was discovered that OSullivan had been delinquent on his payments to the insurance company for more than two years, and that the policy had been canceled since January 2010. OSullivan was still taking in common charges from residents during that time, police say.
OSullivan turned himself into Fairfield Police Monday after learning of a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with larceny by scheme and released on a promise to appear in court. He is due to face charges on Jan. 3.
