Some of the 5,000 runners expected for Thursday's 33rd edition of the Pequot Runners 5 Mile Thanksgiving Day Road Race went to the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Southport on Monday night to beat the rush and pick up their race numbers and T-shirts. By the time the doors opened at 7 p.m., the line stretched across the parking lot, and participants streamed in for the next two hours.
The process will be repeated tonight and Wednesday night. Runners can register at the club or preregister online in advance and pick up their race packets that evening. Complete race information, including a list of entrants and their numbers, as well as a link to online registration is available at the Pequot Runners website.
