It wasn't just the snow-clogged road that posed a problem for a Norwalk woman Monday morning. The oil delivery truck parked in the travel lane made it difficult to pass. She honked. The driver of the truck got out, made a vulgar gesture and cursed at her, the Norwalk Police reported. Her 11-year-old son witnessed it all.
Edward Greco, 46, of Milford was arrested following the incident. Police say his handprint was visible in the rear passenger window of the car, confirming the victim's story that he had slapped her car as she crawled past him on Summit Avenue. The truck had its hazard lights on, but there was six feet between the truck and the curb, police say. Greco was asked why he didn't pull over. "I don't know," he said.
He did not have a Connecticut driver's license. He did have a South Carolina license, but it was suspended.
Instead of having the truck towed, police called the oil company he worked for. A licensed employee arrived and drove the truck away. Greco was charged with improper parking, operating without a license, operating without a commercial driver's license and breach of peace.
