MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Town offices are closed Monday because, like many residents, they have no power.
Town officials will be operating out of the Weaver Street Firehouse, according to town adminstrator Stephen Altieri's outgoing message. The senior center, located on the bottom floor of the Firehouse, will be closed Monday.
The Weaver Street Firehouse was the location for the town's emergency operations center, which housed the department heads of all emergency services for the town. The emergency operations center opened at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and de-activated at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Fallen trees and downed wires caused sporatic power outages around the town beginning as early as 5 a.m. Sunday for residents like Alan Bendich, a Larchmont resident. Others lost power Sunday night due to heavy winds.
Both the Village of Mamaroneck and Larchmont's offices are open Monday.
