Despite the sunshine, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Southern Connecticut, including Fairfield and New Haven counties. The same watch has been issued in five New Jersey counties and 10 New York counties, including Westchester.
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Westport police sent out an electronic alert to residents at 2 p.m. advising them to plan accordingly.
