Severe thunderstorms caused a tree to fall on Shore Acres Dr. in Mamaroneck Thursday night, knocking down service wires and starting a small electrical fire, one resident said.
A man lives on Shore Acres Dr., said he lost power during the storm around 8 p.m. Soon after, the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Department blocked off part of the street while the debris from the tree, which fell into the street, was cleaned and the service wires were repaired. The man said he got power back around 1 a.m.
Twenty households on Shore Acres Dr. lost power in total. The only other outage reported on the Con Edison website for Mamaroneck Thursday night occured on Fenimore Rd, where one household lost their lights.
