FAIRFIELD, Conn. A pair of Sacred Heart University students were charged with a breach of the peace for allegedly harassing a residence hall director at the school early Saturday morning.
The two began yelling obscenities and banging on the mans office door shortly after the arrest of another man at the university, police said.
Officers were first called to the school at about 1 a.m. Saturday for an alleged trespassing incident. The residence hall director told police Benjamin D. Proulx, 20, of Hampstead, N.H. was on campus after he had been warned not to return. Proulx, a former student at the school, was charged with criminal trespass for the incident.
During the arrest, Jake R. Everett, 19, of West Windsor, N.J. and John Riley, 20, of Vernon, Conn., began interfering with police, according to the report. Police are unsure if they were attempting to help Proulx or just causing a disturbance. The two followed the residence hall director back to his office, and began banging on his door while yelling, causing him to fear for his safety, police said.
Proulx, Everett and Riley were taken into police custody, and each later released on $1,000 bonds. All three are due in court March 28.
