PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Thomas E. Borst of Peekskill, died April 1 surrounded by family at the Westchester Medical Center. He was 53.
He was born Nov. 30, 1958 to the late Robert and Lily Borst. He graduated from Walter Panas High School in Cortlandt Manor in 1976. A member of Carpenters Local 53 in White Plains, Borst was employed as a union carpenter until his retirement. In October of 1991, he married Nancy Curry and they recently celebrated their 20th anniversary.
A talented and skilled woodworker, Borst took great pride in his work. He enjoyed providing friends and family with designed wood-carvings and custom pens.
Borst is survived by his wife, Nancy, his daughter, Kimberly, his brother, Jeffrey (Toni) of LaGrangeville, N.Y., two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Peter and Richard Borst.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Cortlandt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private.
