Third Time's the Charm for Hvhc

CROTON-ON-HUDSON— After two rain delays 130 determined golfers hiked out to Hudson National Gold Club in Croton to participate in Hudson Valley Hospital Center’s 34th Annual Golf Tournament. The tournament raised $150,000 for the foundation of the hospital and one lucky golfer hit a hole-in-one.

"I was happy to be there to support the hospital, which we've used many times for our family," said Patrick Canavan, a general manager for Curry Acura in Scarsdale. "I couldn't believe it when I hit the hole-in-one. It was an all around great day."

Canavan made the shot on the par-3, 178-yard 13th hole of the Tom Fazio Signature Golf Course perched in the hills overlooking the Hudson River.

All the proceeds of the event, which was presented by Curry Automotive, will benefit the Foundation of Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

"The hospital continues to grow and improve every year because of events like these, which wouldn't be possible without our dedicated sponsors," said John Federspiel, president of HVHC. "Their commitment to the community is what makes these events so special."

This year's major sponsors included: Presenting Sponsor, Curry Automotive; Cocktails & Dinner Sponsor, Entergy; Halfway House Sponsor, Putnam County Savings Bank; Luncheon Sponsor, Unicorn Contracting Corp.; Golf Cart Sponsors Judelson, Giordano & Siegel, CPA, PC, Pallante Design, LLLC and Cortland Healthcare; Beverage Sponsor, D. Golfers enjoyed a continental breakfast, buffet luncheon, cocktail reception and dinner. Each participant received a complimentary Wilson golf bag, golf wind vest and giveaways provided by sponsors. Awards were presented at the evening reception for longest drive, closest to the pin, net individual, low gross individual, net team and gross team.
