Testa Picks Up PBA Endorsement

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Westchester County Legislator for District 1 John Testa has received an endorsement from the law enforcement community for his re-election bid. The Affiliated Police Association of Westchester County (APA) has enthusiastically put their support behind Testa in his bid to return as the Legislator for District 1.

The APA represents 53 PBA Law Enforcement Organizations across Westchester County. They represent over 10,000 members and are a leading voice for law enforcement issues in Westchester County.

"I am extremely proud to have this endorsement, Testa said. "The law enforcement community members risk their lives every day to protect us and keep us safe. I have always been a steadfast supporter of all they do and will make sure that, as county legislator, I will continue to do all I can to provide them with the support they deserve to do the dangerous and critical service they provide to all they protect."

Testa said he has continued his record as a strong supporter of the law enforcement community. He touted his leadership as Peekskill mayor in establishing specialized crime units for community policing and an anti-drug task force coupled with a zero tolerance for crime enabled the crime rate to be reduced by 40 percent during his tenure.

APA 1st Vice President and Legislative Director Robert Buckley informed Testa of his organization's backing for the election.

"We appreciate the fact that you [Testa] have always been an advocate and strong supporter of the law enforcement community, "Buckley said.
